The seeds I purchased from you earlier are doing great. All germinated and are growing very well.

Anyone familiar with Jose Antonio? The fruit is wonderful! Probably the best avocado I have tasted, but I have not tasted a wide variety of cultivars.
Heard the workers at the USDA down the road from Fairchild eat this before all others at the germ plasm repository.
What do you know about propagation of phalsa? I have one plant grown from seed that was planted out a few months ago. It's got several stems to about 4', reminds me a bit of mulberry appearance but no flowers yet.

WOW. Sherbet berry flavor is DELIGHTFUL!
Someone asked me on another thread to report back in when I had tasted them (I forget who, and I forget what thread - maybe it was the Spring fruiting/flowering thread?). Unfortunately, I did not end up with nearly as many berries as I had flowers this first round, despite attempts at hand pollination, but I did get maybe 15 berries total. I have been waiting what seems like forever for them to ripen, but every day I check they have not even turned red yet. That is still true for most, but on closer inspection, I found one soft, dark purple berry ready to be picked today!
They were all in our back yard and all turned red within a week of each other. We thought it was unusual too. The trees are very young and we only had around 10 fruits on each tree. They were all red in color, but perhaps the Brewster would have improved with more time (though I doubt the fruits would have lasted much longer with birds and other wildlife. This year, it looks like the Mauritius will ripen before the Brewster.Last year our Mauritius, Sweetheart, and Brewster were ripe at the same time. The trees are only about 3 years old, but we both preferred the taste of the Mauritius. They were all good, but the Mauritius seemed to have more complexity of flavor to us. Hopefully soon we can taste them again.
It is very uncommon, in my experience, to have Brewster fully mature and ripe the same time as Mauritius. You are saying that they are all grown at the same location? I wasn't there to see/taste the fruit so I have to rely on your assessment of maturity/ripeness. I must confess some skepticism about the Brewsters reaching their full potential at the same time as Mauritius. How many fruits are we talking about in the harvest/tasting? Were any of the Brewster fruit allowed to stay on the tree longer to see if they would improve in flavor overall eating quality? What was the time of the year (if you can specify the date of the tasting)......maybe your Mauritius were late?

Geo- no I bought an NS-2 from a stand near the front. They brought 10 and there was one left when I passed the booth again in line. There was a super nice guy who had his hand on our last Borneo Red. When someone else said they wanted it he took the last Bangkok Lemon instead. Lots of great people at the sale.
-I only found a single vendor with named jakfruit. Everyone else that I saw only had leggy seedlings from a tree in some park which I found kind of weird. By the time I found him he only had three left and one was grabbed right after I grabbed one
If anyone in S FL. have extra seedling from me could you please give or sell to "geosulcata". He/she is very passionate about this fruit and messaged me too late when I was out of seeds. I know there must be extra seedling because all of my seeds sprouted.
Next month I'm going back to the same place in Peruvian Amazon. Hopefully I will bring back the same strain. Not big size but quality is what matters.
You should keep this in personal messages, It might give people the wrong impression. Dada is a great seller and his seeds are always in great condition, you have to know that when you order certain seeds you take the chances of them rotting, If your going to order highly perishable seeds you have to make sure to get the fastest shipping, otherwise they will rot in the few weeks in the mail. In the future make sure when your ordering seeds from anywhere international that the seeds will at least last a month or 2 just in case it takes longer to arrive, unless you want to risk it.Because I am not the only person who has had a problem with transactions with this seller, I feel it is important to share on the forum. I received no response to my emails to Dada until I responded to one of his new sale posts.
I have many customers who have received and who are happy. There is no guarantee whatsoever and I am not responsible if seeds do not arrive in good condition. Especially Duguetia seeds are viable only short time. However I am willing to send you seeds again!
