And they eat stucco. Great, I have an orchard and a stucco house. You guys keep them down there, please.

We also have them and they love my garden. My slippers love to step on them as well. :P

Here they can be much bigger then on that pic. I have seen ones where the house was almost 1 feet long (25 cm). If i see one then i kill it but they are everywhere in my neighbourhood, especially in the wet season.

I put plastic chickenwire all around my potted plants and so far it worked.

It also works to use coppertape, they won't crawl over that. I am still looking for solid copper rings to put around the stems of my plants. They hate copper, also ants hate it. Just find a sheet of copper and cut it into strips. Bend the strips into rings and put them around the stems.

You can also buy those rings or tape online.

I rarely see small ones, i guess they grow very fast. They like to hide under leaves or other humid spots in the garden. When you have sprinklers they will stay near them. In daytime they are hiding but after some rain they go out for a walk, so then i also start chasing them. :D :D  It is easy to see if they are around because they crap on the walls and you can't wash it off, it goes into the paint.

I have found their crap on my pots but i guess the chickenwire stopped them because the plants were fine.

They are a big [no pun] problem for me on Maui. Sometimes they have such a heavy thick shell we can not stop them but have to throw against hard rock like surface. The problem become worse in pastures as the thicker shelled ones are not trampled.Tthus are naturally selected to inter bread  & produce a very hard shelled strain.
So keep stomping while you can.

You guys haven't heard about these????

This is old news, like from 2-3 years ago or more.

They are from tropical africa so I don't think they could establish in CFL.

At least in Dade County they are really on top of this.
