Approx how long  from seed to fruiting for these do they need to be planted in the ground or can they fruit in pots?
What are their water needs like.

Mine is flowering in a 7 gal. pot. They are very precocious and take about 4 years from seed in the right conditions.

Thanx also for that info, Jabo!

I have E. stipitata in a 7 gal pot as well, but it has only been in there for four months now.  It's growing okay, plus it's bushy and about 3-1/2 to 4 ft tall from the top of the pot.  (It came out of a 3 gal pot.)  Have it in full sun now; seems happy.  How tall is yours, Jabo?

I'm wondering how much taller it might need to be to fruit.  It's getting plenty of rain here in Florida since the last few months have been generous that way.  I've been shy with the fertilizer though to let it get its roots well established in the pot but maybe by now it could use some more fertilizer.  What are you feeding yours?

Hoping to be able to try some fruit before too long.

Not sweet at all but taste is phenomenal.  Love making juices and pies with it.  Maybe worth trying to make kombucha next.

Ertdude is an excellent seller

This is when it was in the 3 gallon...Over the course of 3 weeks it put out about 25 flowers. They didn't set though probably because it is its first time fruiting. mine is about 3 feet tall. Gave it a little of 8-3-9. Nothing special ;) .

Ertdude is definitely an excellent seller. All my seeds I got sprouted.
