Anestor Mezzomo, great father of a lovely family, great human being, and one of the largest and knowledgeable exotic fruit collectors of Brazil, wonderful person through all the years I had the privilege of communicating and trade with him, great loss for our community, rest in peace my dear friend Anestor.

Not only had vast knowledge of plants, especially rare tropical fruits, but also was one of the most prolific fruit photographers anywhere. Had the pleasure to visit him in 2009. Here is a photo i took in Florianapolis, Brazil. Will be sadly missed. Tremendous loss to rare tropical fruit growers.

Anestor helped me on numerous occasions.  He was a great source of information and kind person.  My heart goes out to his family.  I only wish I could have met him in person as we both have sítios in Santa Catarina Brazil.  Goodbye my friend.
