Thanks again Brandon. No flooding here. Are there any treatments you/others are aware of that can treat root fungus, that is if it is indeed that? Thanks.

Thanks Brandon. It's grafted, purchased from a local nursery. It actually started soon after the hail storm last summer and has struggled since. No frost here and it didn't get below 48 F AFAIK. Watering is every other day.

Thank you, Brandon. The tree has never produced fruits. It's about 6 ft tall and gets plenty of water (albeit it's from an irrigation well, hard water with salts).

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Jackfruit tree problem
« on: March 16, 2021, 03:06:27 PM »
I have a 3 year old jackfruit tree that did very well the first two years but has struggled over the last several months. Many of the branches are drying up and the leaves are turning yellowish-brown. I am in South FL in the Palm Beaches area. If anyone has run into this issue and could provide any advice, I'd appreciate it very much.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks.  Half of it is gone.  Bark on the backside looks ok albeit I’m worried about rest of it peeling off.  The tree is quite stable.  I was thinking about using grafting tape to cover the area.  In retrospect, I should have done something sooner.

New to the forum and learning a bunch from reading past posts.

I am having a (related) issue on my Meyer lemon tree that has been like this for a few months now.  Any advice on how best to address this would be greatly appreciated.  Many thanks in advance.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Help with damaged trunk on sapodilla tree
« on: January 21, 2018, 01:02:49 PM »
Hi all,

New to the forum.  Been reading up and find the discussions very useful.  Hoping to get some advice on a problem with my sapodilla tree.  I live in South Florida in the Palm Beach area

Bought the sapling from Excalibur (local nursery with an extensive variety of tropicals) in late 2015.  Tree has grown slowly but has started to fruit already (this is the first year and I am quite excited).  There are about a dozen or so fruit on the tree.

The trunk has been damaged somehow (landscaper?) and I have noticed ants going up and down the trunk.  See pictures.  Any advice on what I could do a) to mitigate the damage and b) to repair it?  Many thanks in advance.
