hi, 007

Very nice healthy tree. If you don't mind I'll post some more fine specimens around the La Habra/ Whittier area. As you know, this area is one of the best mango growing areas in all of Socal with summer highs 85-90F lows 65-70F and winter highs at 70's and lows 50F.Very similar climate of Brisbane Australia. On my way to Costco, and to pick up some redwood mulch in Whittier, I took these pics.

..... in 2 months these mango growers will be awash in mangos.

JF-

Very nice trees laden with mangoes. Most are seedling trees? Figuring due to their age they are seedlings, which can produce very good fruit..... I had some delicious fibrous seedling mangoes a few days ago. You don't fillet such mangoes. You peel the skin and eat.

Wow...some of those trees are completely LOADED!! You guys appear to be a couple of months behind us here in FL.

I was also wondering if most of those are seedling trees?

Thanks Cuban007 and Joe for posting those pictures!!

One the tree is a Haden the rest, I would assume, are seedlings. Yes, were are 2 months away from our first mangos. Gary in the desert, is a few weeks away. My first mango came Aug.20th last year and my last in Nov......I did have a Mallika in Dec. but that was from the secomd crop. I'm going to knock on some doors in a few months and beg for some mangos ;D

I think you have a Glenn mango. Just by way of contrast, I ate my first 2011 Glenn on May 24th. This year my first ripe Glenn was June 1st. First ripe Haden was June 8th 2012 but most are only coming ripe right now

My first Pickering came off the tree today June 24th and needs a 1-3 days to ripen. I am in Broward County Florida

Actually my first mango was a Haden and less than a week later came the Edwards. Glenns weren't ready until the first week of Sept. This year I pinched all the flower off and let most of my tress rest. I do have 2-3 Pickerings and they are on schedule for late Aug. and also have about 7-1o Glenns afew Ataulfo's and Manilas....oh wait, I have a couple Lancatilla and one Irwin.

J, very nice pics and why should I mind? The more, the better. Those two pics I took them really quick. I was just driving, saw them, pulled off the road with the kids and snapped some pics with my phone. There is another place that I saw another mango tree loaded that I will take pics and share them with you all.

Zands, California is always late two to three mothns behind FL in most of the fruits.

We should post more pics of the SoCal Mango trees with fruit and share them with all of us.

Hey Joe, I bet if the thinned out a lot of those baby mangoes the rest of them would probably get to some pretty decent size. Of course I would wait several weeks as I'm sure a LOT of them would abort...but if it were my tree I sure would remove some of them (but of course the ones I could reach,lol...) to get some larger sized fruits...but its not ours so that's a whole other story,lol...

Good luck with the "begging"...hope you get some  ;)

Felipe...de nada. I will be posting some more pics of this other place as well. Glad you enjoyed them. JF, has a better microclimate, more suitable for tropicals and subtropicals than where I live as you can see by the nice pics he took.

Amazing pictures, JF collecting budwood? (I know I would be tempted to knock on doors and ask). There are some nice mango trees growing in Santa Ana area as well.
Grow mainly fruits, vegetables, and herbs.

Common Fang. Where are the pics?  I want to see how your trees are doing in that 110 degree heat.

Fang, nice looking trees.  It looks like your Manila will ripen first and then your Rosigold.  Does that sound right?  Is that normal for you?

Can you please post your exact address and the dates you will be out of town.  I would like to come by and pick up my mangoes ;D.
