Atemoya Haul in January
« on: January 06, 2015, 09:02:01 PM »
I picked these Lisa atemoyas this morning.  My atemoya trees are only two years in the ground.  I was planting to wait another year before attempting to fruit them.   When I pruned them in late June to get them to branch more, they flowered like crazy and I couldn't resist trying to pollinate them.  These 5 are all the success I had on the Lisa.  I got 2 on Page and 1 on Priestly but they are small and malformed. Hard to beat fruit of any kind in January.  All together, they weighted in at 3.5 pounds.  The biggest was .8 pounds and the smallest .3 pounds.  Now I have to endure the agonizing wait until they ripen!!!

Congratullations on the harvest, looks beautiful.
The fruit already look ripe to me, light coloring between sections.

Nice haul
Super Lisa went crazy after the third year and this year i had 30-40 fruits. These are much smaller than last year due to the dought and they have a tendancy to slip after a cold snap followed by heat. We had 4 days straight below 40f and yesterday and today it hit 86F, 90F so I decided to harvest a couple but a few still split.

Mix in there is a super African pride and booth.

Two years to fruit-way to grow!  Hopefully they'll be juicy and delicious.
