Studies were conducted on the early stages of graft unionIi.mnation hetween cashew (rootstock) and mango (scion)using light microscopy and macroscopy examinations.Resin was secreted as the initial wound response a fewminutes after wounding, and this contributed to thecohesion of the rootstock and scion. Callus was formedin all tissues damaged. heginning in the cortex areas of thegraft partners. At 30 days, the periderm had formedacross the union edges. wound edges had sealed, and thecambial linkage between the stock and scion had beenrcstored.
I wonder if Mango can be grafted on Marula Rootstock.ShaneDo you mean this one ?.http://tropicalfruitforum.com/index.php?topic=10301.msg131965#msg131965

Woohoo!!It is the cashew seed/nut that is noxious when processing/cooking. The fruit of the cashew is not noxious or harmful, and in fact can be quite tasty.I would not be so fast to top work that cashew with mango. I would be more concerned with the survivability of the cashew during any cold snaps.

Some varieties in Brazil have very good tasting cashew apples, that is non astringent. The juice does really taste like apple juice and is commercially bottled and sold in Brazil.
