Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Re: Free Jackfruit Seeds

Hey Kevin, do you still have seeds available?
Hello yes I still have plenty of seeds available!

My spammy sense is going off....
What do you mean?
Non-sequitur comments from new members are 99% of the time spammers (they'll come back weeks/months later and edit their comment with spam links). You are offering free seeds, not asking what to do with them, so the comment about how they like to eat them along with their post count seemed very suspect.

I am very interested in the seeds and I'll probably be up in the Largo area on Sunday. If that's close and I can meet you (or I can pay for the shipping and have them mailed), please PM me.
Ah gotcha. I think its legit though, I did mention I didn't have any luck cooking them and asked if anyone had any tips. PM sent.

Key Kevin, I'm in the Tampa area.  I'd be glad to save you some hassle and pick up some seeds if you're cool with that.
Hello sure you can pick them up. Send me a PM and we can coordinate it.

My preferred way to eat jackfruit seeds is by roasting them on open flame or coals..
Thanks for the tip! I will have to try that with some of the seeds

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Free Jackfruit Seeds

Hello,

I’m getting a nice harvest of jackfruit and have too many seeds to use. I’ve tried cooking them but they never come out too good (any tips?). So if anyone wants some, I’ll send a pack of 10 seeds if you cover the shipping. Should cost around $5-6 to ship depending on your location. 6 packs available to start and probably more once I open the fruits. The fruits are nice and tasty and very crisp flesh.

Thanks
Kevin

6
$6 each
Pick 3 for $15
Pick 5 for $20
Shipping will be calculated by weight and your location.
I can possibly make some unrooted cuttings available if I have enough quantity, price is 1/3 of the rooted cuttings cost.

Katuk

Cranberry Hibiscus

Longevity Spinach

Chaya

Toilet Paper Plant (Plectranthus barbatus)

I can confirm that Luc's seeds from Raul have germinated, with a high rate, after 1 year in the package that Raul sent them in. Excellent seller and very hardy seeds.

Annie and Raleigh are top notch growers with excellent quality plants and seeds. I highly recommend them!

Hello!

I have some 'San Pablo' custard apple seeds for sale. Delicious custard/berry flavor and large fruits. Seeds are $1 each.

I also have some custard apple seeds from an unnamed green skin/white fleshed type that had a good flavor, but lots of seeds. These should be used for rootstocks. $0.50 each.

Shipping is $5.

Thanks!
Kevin

Hello,

I'm having a garage sale this weekend and figured I'd see if there was any interest for some local pickup for some larger plants that would be expensive to ship. Send me a message or email (info@realsweetfarms.com) for the location.

I have some very nice araza (eugenia stipitata) that have flowered or are very near flowering size: $45

I also have some nice pitangatuba near flowering size but have not flowered yet: $20

I can also do some nice discounts for any offerings that are in stock on my website, like:
cambuca for $20
Luc's garcinia for $20, 2 for $30
Yellow jaboticaba for $10, 3 for $25
Imbe 3 pack for $25

And hey its a garage sale so I'm open to some haggling especially if you buy a bunch and open to trades as well.

Thanks!
Kevin

Thank you for the kind words W. and TnTrobbie!

In light of some recent eBay auctions, I may have over priced the grafted red hybrid jaboticaba. I just sold a nice sized one just sold for just $32 on eBay, so I wanted to offer them here for $32 plus shipping to see who may want one. They were grafted using good sized scions from a fruiting red hybrid so they should give fruits pretty quickly. Let me know if you're interested by sending me a PM and I will send you the total with shipping (price on my website is higher, offer only for the forum!) Shipping should be no more than $20, closer to $10 if you're in Florida, $20 for California folks.

Thanks,
Kevin

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Angie and Alphonso mango scions
« on: August 28, 2022, 02:15:48 PM »
I have some extra Angie and Alphonso scions from trimming my tree this weekend. Open to trades for other mango varieties or $3/each, 5 for $10 with $10 shipping. I want to ship these Monday since they've already been cut.

Also I don’t recommend Alphonso for Florida it is notoriously bad at fruiting just wanted to put that out there.

Thanks,
Kevin

Definitely interested in some of the psidiums and the Blue Picinguaba looks really nice I'd give that one a try too. And any campomanesia species you can get from Brazil I'm interested in as well!

Received my seeds quickly and they look great! Thank you! Definitely recommended.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Florida...October...fruit?

Sugar apple

Thx.

I’ve seen inferior ones in FL but who sells superior ones?

Pine island should have a good selection. I’m up in Tampa and there are markets in St Petersburg where you can find some nice ones too. I’m not too sure where to get them on the east coast but I’m sure there are great spots over there too.

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / 'Alphonso' Mango Scions For Sale
« on: August 10, 2021, 08:57:27 AM »
Hello,

I am trimming back my multi-grafted tree and can prepare 'Alphonso' scions if anyone is interested. $4 each or 5+ @ $3.50 each. Shipping is $8 USPS priority flat rate. Scions will need to be prepared so please anticipate a short wait of 1-2 weeks after placing an order for shipment. Quantity limited

I must say that 'Alphonso' is a very poor performer in Florida (in my experience) and will be removing all 'Alphonso' branches eventually as I don't think its worth growing in Florida...I just had to warn you all! It may perform better in other areas.

Thanks,
Kevin

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: 2021 Mango Season (Florida)
« on: June 09, 2021, 11:27:56 AM »
Hello all,

I'm looking for some advice for when to pick 'Angie' mangos. I have a lot of squirrels and other critters that eat a lot of the fruit from my yard so I'd like to pick them as early as possible. When do you pick them and do you think the one pictured below is ready?

Thanks!
Kevin
