Look at Quatar. The infectious rate per 1 mil population its the biggest in the world and its a warm country.
This comes to aid my theory about pollen competing with coronavirus because Quatar has not manny flowers and the pollen in the air its low because this country its located in a desert.
The death rate with only 30 cases for 45000 covid 19 cases looks ,,engineered,, like one would expect to find in such dictatorship ( i cant even call it dictatorship actually).
Just see the facts for yourselves https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

I dont even know how you can say they have plum style leaves since they have no plum genes.
In order to get an idea on how the ,,plum,, style leaves should look on these hibrids, you should compare them with the Myrobolan leaves or the chinese plum/myrobolan.

Here in Romania ( the biggest plum producer in the world) the Pluots, plumcots ,etc  would be considered mislabeled because they are not real plum ( Prunus Domestica) hibrids .
They are american plum hibrids wich we dont even consider those plums and we call them ,,corcoduse,,( mirabelle fruit) not ,,prune,,( real plum,Prunus Domestica).
None of the pluots, plumcots have real plum genes in them.

EDIT: they are not even Myrabelle ( Prunus domestica var Syriaca) hybrids with apricot but instead they are hybrids made with Prunus Cerasifera ( myrobolan used as rootstock)  or Prunus Salicina ( a chinese ,,plum,, thats a soird of a chinese Myrobolan) and apricot.

Here is a study that says it fixes nitrogen .
But it doesnt fixes at the level i initially toght so i wouldnt count on it to fix much nitrogen in the cyanobacteria stile so i agree with you Johnny.

I ate a lot of eurasian sparrows in childhood ,when i was stupid and hunted everything that move.
My dream was to hunt a rare, white sparrow ,albino.
Never seen one.
Now i have probably 50 sparrows that nest on my house roof and around the house.
They eat my dog food pellets and even the cat pellets but i cant get mad on them for that.

A week ago i left the window open to my greenhouse and 3 sparrows got inside the dome then got skared and one couldnt find the way out.
I got out of the dome so that she doesnt feel stressed by my presence so that she finds the way out wich she did.

In case of an emergency and if the plants get burned from too much nitrogen ,you can apply gypsum( powder from construction store).
Gypsum is used to recover lawn spots that are burned because of dog urine wich is verry high in nitrogen.

158
Soak them in water 24 hours ,then put them in a ziplock bag with wet peat moss and keep them in the fridge for 40-80 days.
When you take them out and feel warm enviroment they should germinate.

Salut !
The small trees you could cover them with a shade cloth or something like that .
Personally i dont worry about blackbirds ( grauri) and i had small cherry trees that had just 2 or 4 fruits on them ,the giant flock of blackbirds settled for a while on my land and no bird ate my cherryes wich were without protection so to speak  :D.

Graurii erau carnea de vanat preferata a lui Alexandru Odobescu.

Culprit discovered (just got another one, more on the way): Eugenia reinwardtiana / Cedar Bay Cherry.  :)

Remarkable how much it tastes like plum. Only real criticism is I'd like a better flesh to seed ratio.
Have you tryed a plum X apricot cultivar?
These hibrids are on par with mango probably betteer as i live in a temperate place,i have a big such hibrid tree and i eat like 2-3 fruits per year from the tree while mango i ate houndreds in a year from supermarket.
The hibrid tree is soo good all the fruits get eaten before i do,even the half rotten one that fall from the tree are eaten.

I have these giant sized, fruit eating ,blackbird flocks flying above my land .
I dont do nothing and i have grapes, cherryes, small fruits they like to eat. They do no big damage ( id say no damage at all) and they are fun to watch especially if they are chased by a hawk.
In childhood i used to hunt and eat all species of blackbirds i could find. Its for connaiseur hunters to eat them and they have a distinct taste because they eat all those fruits and they are the leanest possible game meat.
Now i dont hunt any bird ,off course.
With a pellet gun if you sit under the flock directly and shot them ,you wont do nothing to them and might as well get stained with somme red poo  ;D.

In my orchards i plan to let 10-15 % of the crop on trees for the birds to eat in winter.
I also have a giant cherry tree ,Prunus Avium ,that i keep especially for blackbirds.
I dont mention the houndreds of big Mirabelle trees and american plums from my fence ,wich are heavy bearers that probably make 2-3 tons of fruit per year and i dont colect them ,just keep these trees for the birds.
I get soo much fruit that i have to ferment them to make moonshine or compost ,but the mirabelle, american plum and cherryes are too much work to colect.
I make compost from apples, pears and quince( i have a quince tree that makes like 400kgs of fruit per year ,alone).

Not to forget the sour cherry forest with houndreds of trees on the hill slope. They are high quality fruit ,but because theyre in a slope i dont colect them and leave them for the birds.

An idea to prevent you becoming poore because of the birds ,is to plant more trees, for you and the birds.

Root damage .Its same as overwatering stress.
The doesnt have enough oxigen because of root damage or because of overwatering( the roots dont have enough oxigen).
I have a cherimoya that i think il loose her because of overwatering and sprouted similar leaves.
Pawpaw on the otther hand its more resistant than cherimoya probably ,because they like to grow in wet soil near rivers.
I think it will recover.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Yeast as fertiliser
« on: May 26, 2020, 07:43:06 PM »
Anybody have experience with regular brewers yeast ( thats also used for bread) as fertiliser?
Yeast is nitrogen fixer but needs carbon and a fast available carbon like sugar so basically you trade sugar for nitrogen by growing yeast ,just like nitrogen fixing plants do.

Fabric pots have increased aeration.
When i go fishing i always keep my earth worms in a fabric bag usually made from an old shirt and the worms are happy  in it.
On the otther side,my friends keep their worms in buckets with a lid that has holes in it and verry offyen their worms die  after a day or 2 then they come to beg me for for worms and il give them a showel to dig for new worms ( even if i have manny,i dont like to share them and to be honest i prefer to release my worms after the fishing trip in a nice semi wet place than to give them to otther fishermans).

Due to the higher oxigenation of the fabric pots ,its logical they are the best .
But the downside is as people mentioned before, that they need more constant watering .

Interesting concept.  Wonder how the seals, etc. hold up over 10-20 years?

I just replaced a 15 year old Grundfos 1 HP pump which was working fine with a 3/4 HP, keeping my old one as a spare.

The seal its the membrane and its made from high quality, highly resistant rubber .Asside that ,the coils are also enclosed in resin so even if water would get under the rubber seal ( impossible) it wont do nothing to the pump.

I bought a russian diaphragm pump that was installed in a well and worked a lot for 35 years and the rubber its in perfect shape. Its a laboratory type of rubber, one you might expect to find on the ISS.
The pump worked perfectly with only the cable joint being slightly affected ( cracked).
It worked for 2 more years in my well before failing due to the old cable so 37 years of work .

But its not over iet as i plan to rewind the coil and cable of this pump then use it again.
This man from UK i think ,its the only one that speak using english language about these pumps, except me here.
Because these pumps are rare in the UK, he rewinded the coils of his pump altough one such pump brand new costs just 30-40 dollars and i think cheaper than if you buy the copper wire and the epoxy resin.
Somme info he offers its flawed ,that the pump needs a 20 minute break after 1,5 hours of use. They can work non stop and it says even in the operating manual .

You can prune the tree less in order to keep the grafted parts on ,if you strip the tree of 80-90% of the leaves.
You can try not to prune the tree at all if you strip the leaves because its from the leaves they loose water and dry out.

Pruning is done to avoid stripping the leaves one by one wich takes more time but if you consider your trees are worth the effort its not that much work.

My pump doesn't work anymore. When I turn it on it has a buzzzzz sound.  what would be the problem? It work for a a year or two and then not working anymore.  Maybe my brother didn't install it correctly?
Depends on what type of pump it is.But if you say it makes that noize and im assuming its a pump that has a rotary motor,i suspect its toasted .Water got into it and it burned.
Its also possible ,if it has a motor that has carbon brushes ,that the brushes got consumed and they need replaced.
What type of pump is it?

A superb example of the russian diaphragm pump pulling out sand and silt from a 20 meters deep well.
You wont find any big brand deep well pump( like Shurflo,Grundfos ,etc) that can do this.
From the video you can get an idea about the flow also and for that flow ,from 20 meters depth it consumes just 250 watts.
https://youtu.be/XyEvF85as50

Best water pump for such height its a russian diaphragm pump.Vibtation pump they are called. They have no moving parts no bearings and its just an electromagnet.
Its a more efficient technology than having a pump with brushless motor. This is ,,bearing less,,.
These pumps can easily pump 90 meters height ( they can do more but they are made to work at max 10 atm because if they had bigger pressure it would explode the pipes).

They can work non stop, last decades and they consume just 250-300 watts per hour wich is verry efficient for a flow of 10 -20 litters per minute at such high pressure.
The best deep well submersible pump design in the world.
Shurflo and Grundfos look like toys compared to these russian diaphragm pumps.
Also one such pump costs just @ 30-40 dollars wich is insanely low priced for a 10 Atm pressure diaphragm pump with reasonable flow, made from metal.

This is how it looks and its a rare ( non existent basically) pump used in the western europe and USA,Canada, have never heard of them.
West Europe and North America use much more complicated well pumps that cost a lot more and consume more current and are bad designs that fail a lot faster.

Russian pumps are soo much ecological and economical that all the otther well pumps should be banned by the Paris agreement and we should all use these diaphragm pumps like we switched from incandescent light bulbs to LEDs.

Wich water pump should i buy?
Ducati ,italian made wich is used and 30 % cheaper than the chinese.
It has 2 stroke motor, noizy, polutes a lot ,eats a lot of fuel but its light and easy to carry.

Or Loncin,a good quality chinese brand wich is 4 strokes, vibrates less ,consumes less fuel, not too noizy and polutes a lot less ( they say its euro 5).
Brand new with 2 years warranty costs just 30% more than the used Ducati. Its also a bit more heavy.

Nice project.
Hope the expensive fan fogger works well for you and you get enough rain to sustain your cooling sistem.
RO water is also an option in case its needed and if you can afford to buy that fan you can afford to pay the water from the RO installation also :D.
Or polyphosphate filter better wich will stain your plant leaves but we do that with foliar fertiliser anyway.

Ive tryed to move quite a few big trees with zero success.
The one you see in the picture still died even if i cut its branches heavily ( like somewhone allready sugested- good idea).

Now if id have to move a tree i would use a chain hoist to lift the tree by force from the ground without damaging the bark (using towels over the chain to protect the bark from scratching).
This chain hoist method is used normally to take stumps out of the soil but i think it would work with the tree and its extracting the tree out with a lot of roots.

This is the chain hoist method im talking about.
You Can water well before pulling the tree roots and also if the roots are big you can cut them easy on the edge with a strong scissor.
I reccomend the 2 ton or 3 ton chinese chain hoist wich cost about 35 dollars and you would also need to build a strong tripod.
This video explains the method with the chain hoist and a 2 ton chain hoist is used.French language but you get the idea.

I use the squirrel version of social distancing... Keep my seeds and seedlings out of their reach.
Also... having 2 dogs and a cat on the premises probably helps.

Kevin Jones
I protect the squirrel on my land from my cat .
Sometimes the cat corners the squirrel on a branch wich she cant leave safely because the cat is waiting on the ground.
Then rhe squirrel starts to bark at the cat and i know its time to get the cat out from there so the squirrel can move to another tree.
Its an endangered specie of squirrel that was extinct in the past 40 years in my area.Long ear european squirrel.
