Here is a picture of a OBO mango that fruited on my tree. The fruit is completely fiberless and extremely sweet with little tartness at the end. Lychee, mango, pineapple flavors.

It could have been OTMO.. The name was somewhat faded out. It was a old grafted tree setting in the back.

I just recently picked up a tree from Excalibur and noticed a faded letter OTMO on the side of the container.
Anyone have information on this variety would be greatly appreciated..

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Shipping mango tree

This might be a dumb question to ask.
I am planning on shipping a mango tree to a friend.
Have anyone in here shipped and what carrier to use?

Thanks..

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: When is sugar apple seeds a dud?

The best way to sprout sugar apple seeds is damp potting soil in full son. The paper towel methods only good for summertime as we are going into cooler months of the year and the success rate will be lower.
I have attached a picture of VSA seedlings. Took picture yesterday and 3 weeks to sprout. I also have to deal with squirrels digging in containers and up root everything  to stash their acorns.

Hi Richard,

I totally agreed with you, but the VSA that I got from you  3 weeks ago have not sprouted yet...hopefully soon.  As for the squirrels digging in containers, I use a wire cage to cover it up.

Kent

Kent, give it a week or two . Keep me posted. It might need a little more time do to California climate weather.

Hi y'all,
Sorry been busy. If y'all want seeds PM me on messenger. It's the best way to get a hold of me.
The Vietnamese sugar apple I have is completely different than the Na Dai here. 90% of the growers are growing atemoya, cherimoya and annona. By this the seeds are cross and passing hands too hand.
My family got the seeds 30 years ago from Vietnam. We only grow this particular variety.
