cherimoya climate question
« on: June 20, 2014, 03:04:07 PM »
Hi all,
I've got some Annona cherimola seeds of the "El Bumpo" variety (from Trade Winds Fruit) germinating. Now (why I didn't do this research before buying the seeds I couldn't tell you) I see that they need a cooler climate. Our land is in the mountains but not super high, it gets coolish at night and in the winter (Nov-Jan) it gets pretty cool, even chilly. But on the other hand I know that guanabana will fruit there. So my question is, could a climate exist that is cool enough for fruiting cherimoya and warm enough for fruiting guanabana, or am I wasting my time with the cherimoya? Any thoughts? Thanks!
