Provost mango variety
« on: May 30, 2015, 11:10:29 AM »
Let's talk about this mango variety. I sampled one at Fairchild in 2011 and I thought it was really interesting. It had no fiber, a small seed and tasted more like a peach than a mango. I've only found two comments about it on here (both of which rated it poorly), so does anyone else have any comments? I quite liked it, and I could see myself growing a tree, but I've never seen it for sale. From what I've read, the flavor profile of Glenn sounds like it might be similar (though I've never tried one).

Glenn is a somewhat mild m a ngo with not a lot of complexity.   It has a melting texture Nd at times can have a hint of coconut in its flavor profile.   No fiber at all.  Based on your description of Provost, which I have not tried,  i would say the Glenn and Provost are not that similar.

In that case, is there a variety that you would recommend that might be similar? I've heard of peach cobbler and juicy peach have a peach flavor, but I don't know much about them.

Peach Cobbler doesn't taste like peach at all

Okay I'll scratch that one off the list then.
