Vietnames sugar apple

I had tasted many varieties of Sugar apple, and they're only have one flavor: sweet and very sweet. For the first time (last week), I tasted a Atemoya (Geffner), all I can say is that I haven't tasted any SA that even come close to it, more fragrance with some acidity. I hope Vietnamese people spread the words and start to plant more Atemoya.

They are. There's a bunch of them Vietnamese people in my area who are growing atemoya instead of sugar apple.

I have several types of atemoya variety , but I still want to have Vietnamese sugar apples because of my childhood memory too. I have not seen and taste the real fruits for 20 years. Hopefully in the next 3-5 years I can the chance to taste it. So excited to Wait for the seeds arrive.

Cool Dragon. We should keep in touch and check up on our progress growing this VSA from seeds. Mine seeds are coming as well.

I have never germinated sugar apple seeds before like this VSA.

so far, i heard we're supposed to soak the seeds in water for at least 12 hours and put the seeds in a seeds starter soil. Keep the soil moist but not soak. cover the cup to keep the soil humid.

Did i miss anything else?

I usually slightly open the sides of seeds before soak them over night in water . It helps the seeds sprout easily in the damp towel , then I transfer them to the soil when I see long and white roots appear.

Don't forget to put the wet towel in ziplock bag , and check often to see if they sprout or get mold.

place the bag in warm direct sunlight or warm no sunlight. I imagine mold is the issue. just change the bag and towel if it happens?

I sometime have to rewash the seeds and replace the paper towel when they are moldy

thanks Richard for the cheap affordable seeds.  we'll see if I can get it to survive and bear fruit in 2yrs in N. CA, bay area peninsula.
