can i use this mango grafting technique for avocado?
« on: February 04, 2016, 04:18:52 PM »
Hi all. I was looking at this thread: http://tropicalfruitforum.com/index.php?topic=7126.0 where Tim Thompson shows his groovy veneer/cleft hybrid graft on mango. I like it because you can use it with a thicker scion and a very slim, young rootstock, which is what I have, except it's avocado, not mango. Can the technique work for both?

I'm pretty sure you can use it on a variety of species.  I haven't tried it on avocado, but at the recent CRFG scion exchange Keith Barton was using a similar graft on apples and stone fruits.
