Yeah it does look a lot like the pic on the 1st post.  Looking forward to the day it flowers.  Also got a space reserved for a Queen Natal for when/if you decide to sell some slips/suckers.  ;D

I'm a rookie with pineapples but that also resembles my White Jade because of the line in the middle and I don't see thorns.

Yeah simon could be right its possible it could be the White Jade Pineapple I'm growing one myself but after its fruit is ripe i don't plan to grow it again....

to me the white jade doesn't seem to grow very well where I'm at in florida maybe it had something to do with me growing it in the ground. All my other pineapple plants i grow are doing great some in the ground and some in pots but only white jade didn't grow so well

I don't have a Queen Victoria Pineapple.  Let me know when you have some pups for sale.

As far as the pic I posted, I think it is a White Jade.  I have another smaller one I bought on eBay and it looks identical, I just realized that.  That means I need to find a Florida Special.  Wellspring sells them.

Received the Florida Special I ordered recently.  It's a tiny little thing right now yet it looks so much like my White Jades I can't really tell the difference.

That fruit is beautiful, I know you have a refractometer so let's see the numbers once you cut it open!  Oh yeah, I'd love to hear a taste report as well. Good going.

As long as it tastes good, that's all that matters. The Brix score really does help in judging just how sweet the fruit really was as long as a taste description is also provided. I wonder if the fruit would have tasted even better if water were withheld for about 2 weeks prior to harvesting? Would you say this pineapple tasted as good as a store bought Pineapple?

Taste wise about the same as a store bought dole Pineapple... and you could be right it mite have had something to do with all the water its been getting from all the rain we got over the last 2 weeks... it had way more juice in it than you would normally see in a pineapple.... Hopefully the next few will turn out better we shell see once there ripe

Have noticed that fruit quality is dependent on the health of the plant.  If you have a large, green plant you should have a very sweet, rich fruit.  I've pulled a pineapple off a medium size plant with rather yellow leaves, not in the best of shape and the fruit was marginal in quality.  Had a lot of fiber too.
