If your strawberries low in flavour, take one or two punnets, throw into the blender with juice (orange, cranberry. wahtever) and couple dollops yoghurt and mix.
Will now be high flavoured strawberry taste.

Not sure about how your suggestion makes the strawberries have more flavor, but I learned a new word today. I had no idea that those litttle baskets that strawberries come in were called punnets. Thanks for my vocabulary word of the day.

I think more flavour is released by cell maceration than you get from eating . Mind you I have hsad strawbrries that are extremely flasvoursome out of hand but in Oz there has been a recent history of bland cheap hydroponic grown strawberries and for some reason (theory mentioned) turning them into a frui shake is quitestrong strawberry taste.

some of the older varieties that were grown in FL, that are hard to find nowadays, are smaller fruited, but bursting with flavor.
I'm on the look out for some of these older cultivars...they're outstandingly flavorful.

yes loss of flavour with new vars. same with lots of species grapes, tomatoes etc
when we breed for one characteristic we lose others e.g. so when breeding for same time ripening, machine harvestable tomatoes we lost flavour..now i believe we are trying to put flavour back in even ripening machine pickable tomatoes

I remember tasting some pretty bland Florida strawberries about 30 years ago. I was hoping that the newer varieties were better

I heard the tomato flavor got lost from them breeding the green tops out of them so they can have full red tomatoes. I'm not old enough to confirm this but I like trading stories.
