Stopped by Stan's today.

(1/2) > >>

Laaz:
He lost his entire satsuma grove last winter. Said he dropped to 8F. He's still selling citrus trees & has his veggy stand running.

Millet:
Its sad that something like that happened to such a nice guy.  Guess at temperature as low as 8F, Stan's mini spray system was not enough to save his trees.  I probably will see him at this years Southern Citrus Expo in Valdosta, GA.

TooFarNorth:
Real sorry to hear that he lost them all.  I had talked to him early in the year, and he was not sure how much damage was done, but he didn't sound too optimistic. Stan is such a great guy to talk to and do business with. He has helped me a lot in my endeavours.

SoCal2warm:
Interestingly, the Winter on the West Coast was unusually mild. Up in the PNW it never got below freezing the whole month of December.

Citradia:
Sorry to hear of Stan’s loss. I still have one of his Kimbrough satsumas with fruit on it; maybe I’ll bring some to the expo. Laaz, did his Ichang lemon and citrumelos survive?
