We have mangoes for sale again! Tropical Acres Farms is once again partnering with Sturrock Groves to offer you fresh picked Florida mangoes! We have lychees now too.

Now picking Edward mangoes, regarded as one of the finest mangoes in Florida and a 2013 Fairchild curator's choice list mango. $2/pound. Fruit can be purchased at location or shipped if you live out of the area. Philippine, Simmonds, and Duncan mangoes also available. Lychees are now available for $3/pound. We have various types including Sweet Cliff, Mauritius, and Brewster. We also have home made mango preserves and jam for sale as well.

What cultivars of phillipine mangoes?  I'm looking for some poly mangos to use for seedstock.  Needs to be something that's small enough to tolerate indoor growing in greenhouse conditions..

Aww, too big of a tree, even if you would be willing to ship.    If you do have any small-tree SE-asian cultivars (aka, polyembryonic) coming in season around the end of May, I'd definitely pay to ship a couple (or really, even just the seeds, if kept moist) to Houston.

No, not sold out at all, I'm picking plenty of  fruit every day; hopefully we'll have fruit into August.

You are one mile from the ocean according to google maps. This helps you get early mangoes. Me 12 miles from the ocean am still waiting,  first week May I think they will begin. I had two mangoes drop off last week but they were not that good. They were premature

Alex - flavor of the mangoes were very good however the texture was not Edward like...are you positive these are a "pure" Edward?

I actually picked a few Duncans on Saturday from a tree in Western Palm Beach County.  Color was i nice golden yellow...hopefully the taste will be better than last years crop which was weak/bland at best.

Bring on the lychees!!!!!!!

Yes. David Sturrock, who owned the property decades ago,  worked with Edward Simmonds and actually named the Edward mango. He was responsible for promoting it after Simmonds's death. There are 60+ Edward trees growing in the grove and they are among the oldest existing Edward trees in Florida.

Yes, same guy.  Head of the USDA Plant Introduction Station in Miami early 1900's.
