Those looked as if they were sourced from TT. DH and ZIC was excellent last year. ZIC had a chalky (it was ripe), sweet, and juicy. Reminded me of an excellent Starch mango without the tart and fiber. DH was an like an amped up Julie to me last year (revealed this year its a Julie x Kent) but seemed more succeptable to anthracnose. My top 5 for 2013. I loved Tess Pollock this year. Juicy, sweet, fleshy.....ate the whole thing in one sitting while thinking to myself, "I'd definetly plant this mango tree". I also thought their MxM was excellent was well. Thought small considering the parents, it was very sweet and has a nice red blush to it. Another one I won't mind planting myself.

I know it's crazy to some or most, but i liked the tess better than carrie ( i believe it is turpentine x carrie).  It was pretty fibrous though

I had two Zinc mangos for lunch today. One was a bit too ripe but still tasted good.
The other happened to be a perfect mango at the perfect ripeness -- it was truly fine, very sweet, a bit chalky, a bit subacid. Absolutely no off flavors by the pit or the skin or anywhere else.

I have never known ZINC to be chalky or sub-acid.

Maybe it had to do with the climate during the fruit's growth period or the stage of when it was picked.

I have noticed chalkiness in these sometimes.   I suspect it is from some growing condition / mineral deficiency.

Dominicas I had last year was severly unimpressive. Couldn't get rid of those mangoes fast enough.

Dominica may be the same mango as 'Puntica'.




Fralan is a green eating mango from Thailand.

HI Don I no this is an old post but I'm a newbie here and I am interested in buying a grafted or air layered kastori mango tree from you or if any one else has one this site is interesred.
