Hi, i have some amrapali mangos and like to know if they must be picked green or leave them ripen on the tree?

My one and only runt fruit was picked green and ripened on the counter for a week. Taste was awesome! To me, the taste is right up there with the Alphonso mango. Sorry, didn't take pictures of the cut fruit. Remembered it had deep orange color flesh.
