What is this on my mango trees and how do I kill it?

I've found several of these on multiple trees. No damage that I can see? They have a hard outer shell and look like a starfish???

I found several dozen of these stuck on the side of my house, but none on any of my trees. They
are stuck like someone glued them on.

Check your trees. I found some eating the newly formed bark on some of mine on different occasions but not an infestation.

Use 1 part neem oil, 1 part orange oil and 4 parts water.
Put it in a sprayer and spray down the tree and give it a good coat.

Avoid using it in the sun as the oil tends to burn the leaves
I do this for all my new trees as a quarantine for 1-2 weeks before I put them in the greenhouse with the other trees.

Orange oil is an organic pesticide, neem oil is also organic.
I do not use any chemicals in my garden.

Do note that, when you use the orange oil, it will repel a lot of insects for a while.
I would advise to use this during a quarantine and not inside a greenhouse.

Thanks for the advise, Doesn't neem oil help with some other issues as well?

The last picture of "the other little guy that looks like a bag of dead leaves" are bagworms I believe.  They can be quite destructive. Over the last few years I found them eating my lychee and avocado leaves.  Some species are quite large in fact.

I either squash them or create a non-toxic-to-humans-almost homemade spray if I see too many of them.
