Starting to think about retirement. Anyone know of a small house with established fruit trees, especially mango, for sale in south Florida? Planning to visit in May.

Don't think about your house having mango trees. Buy what house you like then do your research and phone calls to buy four 15 gallon mango trees. Superior ones from the best nurseries. At the most $500. Within two years enough production to keep you+family happy....

Martin County has potential. West Coast less expensive houses than East Coast. Sarasota has cultral attractions. St Pete over Tampa. Fort Meyers and Naples are good.  Palm Beach county has neutral soil so you can grow citrus. I am in Broward with high ph soil so no citrus. This also seems to deter lychee trees.

Ok. Related question. My daughter is considering university of Miami. They’re not doing official tours so we’re looking for someone to show us the campus weekend after next. Anyone have a kid there willing?
It's not such a big campus.  When I went to the art museum there, I spent ten minutes or so walking around the campus.  I think in twenty minutes you could cover EVERTHING (from the outside, at least) except satellite operations.  It's a beauty of a campus!  I was impressed.  Academically solid, as well.  Expensive as hell, but aren't all private schools these days??  Good luck!  (UF, my son's alma mater, ranks higher and is still an unbelievable value, but it's a monster of a campus!  I became a Gator Dad.  I love that school.)

If you don't find anyone ahead of time to meet with you, you can always just roam the campus and talk to random students/staff.  My two-cents.

I interned at UM for a year and maintain connections. Had a great time while getting good training.

Beautiful campus.

Some quality programs and professors.

Not the best, but quite good for many majors. Some good graduate programs.

Lots of out of state and international students. Diverse student body.

Not as good of campus life as some schools, but better city and party opps than most.

If your daughter loves the ocean, sunshine, and international culture, Miami and UM might be good for her. Worth checking out.

Thanks! She’s premed. UC Davis is the alternative. But she loves the beach. And UMiami has a good reputation for premed and a great double major for it. Offered a nice scholarship too. Nice to be wanted. Maybe if she went to Davis she’d finally get interested in gardening!

Anyway ...

No offense but UM is not located in the greatest area.  Irs quite pricey, too.

With a scholarship and Mom and Dad in Florida, UM sounds ideal!

North Palm Beach County to Brevard County--that's where you should go.  Somewhere where you catch an ocean breeze.

I am a Real Estate agent in Brevard county.  I would be happy to help, PM or email me if you have any questions about the area.

It's awesome that your daughter is considering the University of Miami!

Hey there! It's awesome that your daughter is considering the University of Miami! While official tours might not be happening, reaching out for a student-led tour is a great idea. It can give you a more personal insight into campus life.

However, I'd recommend ensuring it's safe and reliable. Maybe check out online forums or social media groups specific to UM students to find someone trustworthy. Safety first, especially when exploring new places.

By the way, if you ever need help navigating housing matters, feel free to check out wpgrealestate.ca, it seems like a helpful resource. Good luck with the campus visit!

I am sure you know the below if not, this should give you a good idea.
https://apply.miami.edu/portal/visit

I wont suggest spending 90K+ all for an undergraduate degree.  Look up the borrowed future documentary in netflix.  Skills are becoming more important than the degrees now a days.
