White Jade Pineapple plants are coming along nicely, and should be available sometime early next year.
These pineapples are said to be white fleshed, extremely sweet, low acid, with an edible core, on a thornless plant (cayenne type).
This cultivar was selected in Hawaii, by Dr. Zee.
One problem with commercially growing this cultivar, is the fact that they are so soft upon harvesting! A problem that shouldn't bother home growers, and those with smaller operations. That being said, I've heard these pineapples are so sweet and juicy its remarkable.
This sounds like a wonderful pineapple, that should deserve planting in many home gardens, in the ground and in containers!
Supposed to be like sugar loaf, but better!
If you are interested in getting some plants, I can reserve some for you, or your nursery.
I'm not quite sure how many will be available (most likely about 200-500), but these plants are from tissue culture, and will have separate pricing for those in FL, and those out of state.
There is no minimum order, but single plants will cost a bit more. I think the price will range, depending on how many you order, and your location, from
about $5.00-$1.25 per plant, before shipping. The plants will be small, about 4-6inches tall, and in trays.
Shipping should be available, anywhere in the USA.
If you're interested you can contact me through the forum, or post here, and I will email you.
(I am not the company offering these! I am helping the nursery who has these, to advertise!)
THERE IS NO DEPOSIT REQUIRED TO REQUEST PLANTS, MONEY IS DUE UPON THE ACTUAL SALE, NOT IN ADVANCE!
THANKS!!
Adam
