How to make bananas sweeter

I grew a stock of apple bananas, and this particular variety I am growing and propagating is not as sweet as other apple bananas. Is the sweetness of the bananas dictated by the genetics or the soil amendments? Is there something that can be added to help them taste sweeter?

I think it is mostly genetics, I heard that there are 2 kinds of apple one great one not.

Any truth to watering less to concentrate the sugars in the fruit?? or if overwatered will dilute sugars???

You can always dip them in chocolate! Always makes mine sweeter!

Sprinkle with sugar. Alternatively you could apply extra P, K, MG, S and micros.

I watered them a lot (maybe too much) and only gave them majors. I haven't found a good method to provide micros except for foliar spraying kelp.  Anyone foliar spray bananas?

Yep, I've done so to correct boron deficiency.  Works well, but you need a sprayer that can spray a long way to hit the leaves of the tall varieties.
