I'll get both the Victoria and spanish red. I'll include it with the avocado scions I'll purchase from you
I've got a couple white jades, 1 red Spanish, 1 delt monte gold, 1 victoria available.  These are small size, not yet separated pups.  Send me a message if you would like to get these.

Hey long time since I been on here looking to top work my acocado seedling that's been in the ground. Thinking ofnpinkerton or fuerte. Unless you recommend something else. Already have lamb. Sir prize. And gem and sharwil. So whatever you recommend flavor wise I'd take into consideration.

You can always start with any of those and then graft all the other ones onto it in the future

Out of curiosity, how much of a big difference are there in taste between the many varieties. Pretty much it's just brown sugar/maple syrup flavor right?

Its ok if the tree getting grafted onto is flushing.  What you need is scions with buds that havent already sprung.
well if you have 3 or 4 scions you have that's still dormant I will buy them if you have only 1 or 2 that's fine also

Agree with Brad. I am a newbie. Learned it the hard way as more than 10 grafts of mine failed last fall. I thought I was very bad at grafting. I tried this Spring with 100% success rate. All cleft.
guess it's a risk lol, my whole tree is pushing new flushes so I think it's already too late to do some past minute grafts

I have scons but the trees are already flushing so it is not a great time to take them.  There may be some good pieces left, I can check.  How many do you want?
if it's not ideal time to take scions I can always wait until fall, so you can use whatever scions you have for your seedlings this spring.

Spaugh, that was an interesting read. I am curious as to why they recommended holiday over sharwil when they say that sharwil has the longest hold time.

Would be nice if other people can confirm with their own experiences with these varieties.

I got about 10 people asking for trees but only have 3 trees.  I will graft some more trees today and will try and respond to everyone.

Same thing happened last year.  What I will do is sprout 20 trees and have more than enough this time next year.
do you have spare scions to sell

Do you know which UC made those claims about the sharwil? If it is true then that would be amazing, if the fruit isnt great then I dont think it's worth it. It would be like have a tree full of crap year round ling lol.

Dave at bonita creek is only open on weekends he opens at 10
I know his hours, I tried calling today. I think it's best if I go in person.

Currently have a sir prize, and lamb hass. My goal for my wife is to have varieties to cover her avocado addiction throughout the year

Now from my understanding
Lamb hass harvest is summer to fall
Sir prize is late fall to winter
Please correct me if you have any different experience growing these in SoCal. Now I am I'm search of avocado varieties with a winter to spring since I have summer to winter covered
Does anyone have any recommendations. We currently have our eyes set on Gem so far.

Contacted Eli, theirs wont be ready until next month. I will wait until then, I tried to give bonita creek a call but I believe David's been busy to answer. I'll go for the younger trees at Eli to have it establish a more vigorous root system.

Looking to buy if you seen any for sale or know anyone that has one for sale please let me know.
