I'm getting a thread started for Annona scions 2017.
Feel free to post here if you have some for sale.
I'm not going to be grafting many Annonas this year, but will be selling lots of scions...I usually start selling them in February (depending on weather)....but I am willing to ship any time of year, as long as you accept that there are no refunds.
here is a quick list of what will be for sale, although there are no prices listed, I've tried to list the scions from least rare, to most rare...so cheapest to most expensive.
Geffner Atemoya
Lisa Atemoya
Kampong Mauve Sugar apple
Mr. Minh Atemoya
PPC (pet pac chong) Atemoya
Yucatan Sugar apple
Dream Atemoya
Big Red Sugar Apple
Annona cornifolia
Meiogyne cylindrocarpa (fingersop)
Annona muricata "miami" guanabana
A. scleroderma
A. dioica
A. globiflora
A. mucosa (Rollina deliciosa) "Monstrinho"
A. macroprophyllata (A. diversifolia) "Genova Red Illama"
A. reticulata "Kimber Red"
A. reticulata (unnamed yellow fruited variety, scions from NullZero)
A. reticulata (x squamosa?) "Vinho-Tinto"...from Luc of Mexico.
A. squamosa "Giant Mexican"
A. salzmannii "Beach Sugar Apple"
*possibility of selling root cuttings from Anonidium mannii (Junglesop) as well...so far looks like they may be relatively easy to root...i have some really long root cuttings to harvest.
-
What's the starting price?
I can imagine the junglesop will be $$$?
-
Very nice lineup Adam. I'll take inventory and offer other anona scions. I might offer limited Yucatán purple and Pink in January

Great news! I am looking forward to doing some grafting this year. Will you also have some grafted plants available for local pick up later in the year as well?

Bob
I have a few leftover trees to propagate which I do not advertise they sell quickly. I will offer scions in stages and take 5-6 orders per week....I don't want to get swamp like last year.

Any recommendations on what to graft onto my dream or rollinia?

Any recommendations on what to graft onto my dream or rollinia?
I would go with cherimoya with dream. I've been experimenting with biriba I may have found the best rootstock for our climate but I want to fruit it before I reveal it.

I sent you emails and never received a reply.

I thought dream was the only "cherimoya" I could grow in Florida?

No it's an atemoya known here in California as Arka Sahan

Many people in California know it as "Dream" so .... "Arka Sahan "
Is a great name too , but, if it's the exact same fruit, having
1 name for it would be less confusing.
My question is : If Wayne bred the "Dream" how could "Arka Sahan" be the exact same fruit, with a different name . Are they very similar or exactly the same?
"More filling"
"Tastes great!"

i put cherimoya in quotations to avoid the drama, but i guess i should have known better... where can i get arka sahan?

@jf
How is your Scion list coming along? I wanted some of the recticulas.
Add maybe some atemoyas.
Thanks

Hi Adam,
I want some scions of the best available varieties of A. squamosa, A. reticulata, A. cherimoya and atemoya. I have A. glabra, A. muricata and A. squamosa seedlings for rootstock. What would you suggest as the varieties to choose and on which rootstock? These are for my trees in Brazil and usually the rootstock here is A. glabra for in ground planting because of the heavy rainfall and clay soil. I can also do them in pots if graft take better on specific rootstock. I think it would be hard to find anyone with more experience with Annona here in the USA, so any suggestions or resources that you can give me will be treasured.
Thanks,
Marc

On a sort of related note my reticulatas have yet to defoliate, should I start striping the leaves? Still to young to hold fruit.

To my knowledge annona squamosa is fast growing and fast producing too.You can also grow in pot. Don’t take my words for it though. Lets see what experts has to say.
