Can anyone identify  this fruit I was fishing along canal in south florida and the bank was loaded with these trees with tons of these on them?

Edible, well, they wont kill you .  Are they worth eating...no.

Last June, I was in Florida. One native told me that if you eat these pond apple, you have to go to restroom a lot.  I took his words, but is it true?

The technical terminology is 'spray painting porcelain', and no they don't really have that influence if consumed in modest volumes.
