Looking for common Fig-Ficus carica varieties.
« on: January 06, 2013, 01:22:41 PM »
Hi,
I'm looking for the following Fig varieties;
  • Kadota
  • Celeste
  • Black Mission
  • Conadria
  • Desert King
  • White Adriatic
I got the following fig varieties to trade;
  • Mel do Algarve. Large fig. When mature the fruit drips honey from the 'eye'.
  • Pingo de Mel. Medium sized fig. Pingo de Mel, also drips honey from the 'eye'
  • Figo Doce. Small sized fig, with golden flesh.

Mel do Algarve

Pingo de Mel(Drop of Honey)

Figo Doce(sweet fig)

The three varieties are very productive, juicy and sweet. I usually use Mel do Algarve for jam, because of the large size of fruit. Pingo de mel and Figo Doce, can also be used for jam. Though, they are best eaten out of the hand...YUMMY ;D

Thanks!

Steven,

I have the following,

kadota
Celeste
Black Mission
Desert King (which is very close to Zumwalt, which I have)

But keep in mind, Kadota is the same as Pingo de mel!  (but your pic looks different than my Kadota fruits)

Let me know how I can help!

take care!

Hi Adam and Mike,

AWESOME!!! Thanks for replying. :)

Adam,
I would like to get Celeste, Black Mission and Desert King from you if possible.

Pingo de Mel and Kadota do look similar...Thanks for sharing. :) I will remove Kadota from the list.

Mike,
I would like to get Brown Turkey, Red Magnolia, and LSU Purple, if possible. I researched R.M and LSU Purple...they look awesome 8)

Please say what you guys are interested in ;) Next week, I will go to the orchard and harvest a bunch of cuttings. Mike, if you want more cherimoya seeds please do say :)

Take care!

Hello
Adam and Mike
I am new to both of you(In India we do not address a new person like this)
Can both of you kindly share some Fig cuttings with me? I will send something from India.
Thanks in advance
