I think that is Java plum, Syzigiium cuminii.

The java plums I have seen have been more elongated and less round than these pictured. However, while the individual fruits are more rounded and therfore do have some resemblance to individual bignay fruits, the way the fruits are held on the tree and the lack of clustering that you see in Bignay, makes me think this is more likely Java Plum and not Bignay.

Syzygium for sure! I also think it could be a little atipical cumini specimen...

Thanks all for your responses. I missed the name of the tree was I was a young'n, probably wasn't paying attention. A fairly tall and scraggly tree now, should i propagate it by seed, air-layering, cuttings?
