Pruning Atemoya
« on: January 19, 2017, 07:24:07 PM »
Question, what can you do with the branches when you prune an Atemoya?
Is there a way to root them?

Just do what bsbullie does.

If you can keep cuttings alive for 1 year, maybe it'll make a few roots. That's how long I have an airlayer higher on a main trunk and it's made a good amount of roots. That's a lot of leaves on top pushing on it though.

I'm dealing with the same problem here as well.
I've actually did some air layering with the branch, carve off some branch, root hormone, pack it, wait for a few months.

Well good news is if you screw up the first time, it'll heal and you can redo it a a different location.
Not sure of the humidity and conditions in your area, but you may have great luck air layering.
