I wanted to grow just one durian tree as I'm a bit challenged for space. Is it true that more than one tree is required for good fruit set?

So are there definitely no dwarf durian varieties?

If not, could a seedling durian be kept at ~ 10 feet and still fruit?

Forgive me for the noob question but how do I hand pollinate Passiflora?

Is it recommend to use flowers from one plant to pollinate another or can I use flowers from the same plant?

4
That's great Oscar. How old is this tree.

Sleepdoc, do you think your fruits will hold over the winter?

5
Guys,

Are these normally propagated from seed and if so, are they true from seed?

Are they similar to ungrafted mango in terms of years to reach bearing age (~ 7?)

Sam

It's good to pick when it turns yellow.

Like posts above, it is quite tasty but very scant 'pulp' and lots of seeds!

Nice little treat when working in the garden.....

How big do these trees get? How big is the tree you're getting these seeds from?

Thanks.

SocalKoop,

How old were your mulberries before they started to fruit?

Thanks for the feedback.

I've never tried growing any of those.....

Maybe when it grows a bit more, it'll take a familiar shape.

So in your opinion, it looks like some sort of fruit tree and not just some weed or other, right?!

I'm actually not sure Micah.

I did buy kepel seeds at one point but it never germinated (maybe I forgot all about it and it is now growing!).

I've never purchased garcinia prainiana so that would be surprising.....

Thanks!

I was clearing up some space for some new plants and found this guy in this growbag but could not remember what I planted.

I'm thinking it's a Pouteria of some sort (maybe P. multiflora).....

Looking forward to responses

How safe is it to travel around?

Is there a reliable public transport system or is it better to rent a car and use maps/GPS?

It's worth the wait for stuff from Adam - always professional and his stuff invariably grows (most times!  ;))

So what seeds do you have available at this time Adam?

Sam

Caesar,

Have you ever tried growing Rubus Niveus from seed before? I've never been successful.

Do you think it would need cold stratifying? Although any text I've read on it suggests it is a truly tropical raspberry.....

Sam

This is a great idea Adam. One of the problems would be getting trees that can give fruit in a short space of time. The other might be diet - they like plantains,  sweet potato, cassava, breadfruit, yams.....

I have one tree and have tried hand pollination. None of my efforts ever resulted in any fruits as far as I could tell.

I'm only saying what happened to me  - I'm not sure if you'll have more luck!!   8)

Congratulations - your plant looks really healthy. I've had mine more than 5 years - has flowered multiple times but so far no fruit
