TROLL!!

I find that, while a great introductory/PR opportunity for the masses, the Rare Fruit Council sales are not your best avenue for scoring rare plants and germplasm if you are already a member of the TFF. The best finds and connections to quality/rare plants is the network right here on this forum. I never go with intentions of being impressed. I like seeing people hear botanical names pronounced for the first time as if they had just encountered an alien species. I go just to do the same thing I do at home: mill around aimlessly amid a bunch of trees.

I think if you are a member of this forum, you need to temper your expectations. But also, recognize the opportunity it affords an entirely new demographic.
Just my 2 cents...

Also recommend Pirate Ship shipping - easy to use, lowest rates
https://www.pirateship.com/

And it is crazy how the USPS is the only governmental organization that makes them prefund their retirement liabilities for 70 years in the future! I think it is like 80 billion dollars they need to keep on hand. That's not operating costs, that just prefunded retirement!

It's almost like you think some in congress want it to fail so we can get stuck with FedEx and UPS rates dominating the market. ::)

Yes, Bill. I just now saw this and responded to you privately about shipping. I am happy to be the drop off point for Satya. I'll have his three plants potted up for him when he arrives to pick them up!
Thank you once again.

Hi, Bill:
I noted an error in my order. Please REMOVE the female Dongkui and ADD a female An Hai.
Thanks for all of your work, AGAIN!
I see that we are already over 450 trees! Well done.

Hi, Bill, with the newly added varieties, I'd like to update/change my order:
1 An Hai female
1 Black Crystal female
1 WuSu female
1 dongkui MALE

Thanks, kalan (Keith)

Well, Bill packed them in peat moss for the SFO to MIA transit. Upon arrival I immediately planted them in a mixture of homemade sterile media (I think 1/3 pine bark fines, 1/3 perlite, 1/3 peatmoss) after a brief soak in our local well water. Watered it lightly, stuck it in the garage (65-80F) and covered them all with a large bag for a couple weeks. Still keeping them inside so far and just watered them for a 2nd time this week. That Biqi is the best budding right now - the others are a little behind and 2 of them are just now getting small green buds.

Hello, Bill. I'm in for round #2 if we can get trees in within a month. First 5 trees all showing signs of life and I think colder temps definitely helped with this successful shipment. Below is an image of one of my budding female Biq trees that traveled cross country to South Florida from Bill. Hoping round 2 goes as well as long as we ship before temperatures rise.

New order:
Black Diamond x2 female
Donkui x1 female
Donkui x1 male

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Re: Selling: some plants for sale

I know there is a current question of the integrity of some seller(s) on here.  Never needed to give negative feedback yet.  But, I do want say that Abimael is a great seller.  The quality of his trees and shipping is outstanding.   His prices are exceptionally reasonable.
Only time I get upset with Abimael is when he posts an add and I already have the tree, lol.

Same. Great seller, very reasonable pricing.
Important to laud the good guys.

Roblack:
I am in the same boat as you and spoke to Jon about this as well: I have two 9ft, 15gal trees that should flower any day if this cold doesn't get them. Lets hope one of them is male and we will have a g. hombroniana grafting party.

My condolences regarding your loss and health issues. It is good to know you are back, many of us had asked about you some time ago, wondering where you were.

In hopes of brightening your return a bit, here is a picture I took today. First time ever for me that the g. vleerackerii is holding fruit past the marble stage. This from one of your first seed shipments back in 2013.
Welcome back!
Keith

Wtb garcinia starter plants especially Garcinia madruno the smallish yellow lemon drops.

I have both seeds and small plants of the "bumpy" madruno if that is the one you are looking for (g. acuminata).
Send a PM.

My trees took about 5 years from seed in 10b in pots. I get multiple blooms (2-3 ) in the summer. Trees seem to be monoecious.

If anyone is interested in a ton of Katuk  leaves - I need to trim my gigantic hedges today or tomorrow. Let me know.
