For rooting cuttings, there are two methods of maintaining humility needed for the cutting to successfully root The first is automatic misting, and the second but less preferred method is using a baggie. Misting normally has a 90+ success rate, and bagging around a 50 percent rate of success. However, lucky for you lemon cuttings are normally an easy variety to root, as is its close cousin the Meyer. A container around 4 inches deep, with a rooting medium of 50/50 peat moss and perlite works well. Do not place the cutting in the very bottom of the container where the perched water table can cause the tip to rot. Lemon cutting normally grow straight up and and should be topped at 28 inches to cause the stem to start branching. Be sure to place the baggie so that it does not touch any part of the plant. The purer the water used the greater the success. Keep absolutely everything as CLEAN AND STERILE as possible. Good luck to you and the cutting - Millet
