White Jade Pineapple
« on: July 29, 2016, 11:32:39 AM »
2 years after I purchased some little 4" white jades from Adam, I was finally able to pick the first of 3 growing out back. WOW, was it ever
worth the wait. It was still warm from the late afternoon sun and tasted as sweet as candy. The core was so soft that you wouldn't know
you're eating it except for seeing the circular pattern. I am by no means a pineapple aficionado, but I don't think I could eat another pineapple
after trying the white jade.

Does anyone know where I can get some suckers/slips? Adam no longer sells them.
Thanks
James

Again, thanks for the report. I bought two white jade from tissue cultures last year on EBAY. They are very slow to take and get growing,

I give credit to Ed Self, for making sure this great variety didn't fall into obscurity!

He is the one who told me about it, and gave me some plants.

everything he said about it was true!  it is the best variety I've tasted personally (so far).

apparently it's been around for years, but nobody was propagating it (except a few...maybe Frankie in HI? and Mac in LA?).

If you have a business with sales tax certificate you can order "trays" all tissue cultured from Agristarts.

Oh man it's been soon long since I've had anything but a grocery store / Dole pineapple.... I would seriously love to try this!
