looks like Pride of Barbados dwarf poinciana. I have something similar (compton mixed with a pride of barbados). Beautiful flowers. Tree has some thorns. I can grab seed pods for you when the time is right, there is one not too far from here.

They are easy to root from cuttings and develop significantly quicker than from seed, if you cant find one for sale.

You guys seem to be knowledgeable about this tree. I've heard this is not a true royal poinciana? I didnt expect my tree to shot up 30' in 4 years

I think royal poinciana is Delonix regia and dwarf poinciana is Caesalpinia pulcherrima

Hey Frank, based on the image I agree with Roy-Ind: Red Bird of Paradise (Caesalpinia pulcherrima). We have them all over the neighborhoods down here. In fact I had one in my backyard for years before I ripped it out to make room for a mango.

Nothing invasive about the roots and gets maybe 10-12 ft tall. It wants to be very bushy, so if you want to grow it like a tree you will be pruning it several times a year to keep the form.

Oh, to answer the original question: We have them at every Lowes and HD around here. I would actually be surprised if you CA Lowes / HDs don't carry them. They are very often sold as 1 gallons, but they grow fast!
