ID this Mango (Picture attached), click to enlarge!!
« on: August 06, 2018, 10:14:36 AM »
I got this as a peach cobbler from TT, tree declined upon delivery so I got a replacement. Replacement has been fine and real peach cobbler. However the declined tree in Green House pushed few shoots before passing away. I was able to graft those shoots and now I have it fruiting. The fruit does not look like peach cobbler at all. Fruit is a bit flat and wide, and is bumpy, looks like Coconut Cream?

It should ripen in about 4-6 weeks but wanted to know if someone can ID it, so I can harvest its wood and spread around if its good.

Front look, click it to enlarge twice to see real closeups

This is yet another person that got screwed over by this careless online nursery business called Top Tropicals.
Sorry behlgarden for not answering your question. I have no idea which variety it's, but it's frustrating to find out that this nursery bamboozles everyone they can even after charging premium prices for their plants.

this is not isolated to TT, I had issues with tropicaltreasures that sells on ebay and exclusively buys from Zills. I had issues with imam pasand that Gary Zill finally identified not to be imam pasand after careful look at young and matured leaves.

I think we are all guilty of mis-tagging here or there. specially if anyone thinks they will remember, Bet you in under 30-days you will forget most of the time. LOL

back to topic. any help in ID this mango variety?

Thanks Rob. if anything, I would love it to be one of the top ones. I will confirm when it ripens. I do remember the branches of the tree that died being fragile and soft wood. Coco Cream has same traits I believe.

Nice, I have had trouble growing it in my yard, this one seems to be thriving. I now have access to it. will confirm once its ripened and tasted.

The leaves look similar to Glenn but not sure about the fruit. I would crush that big fat scale bug on the first pic.

As far as taste, UB is more along the lines of Carrie and Angie...

Can you post some better pictures of the foliage?

Flawless mango, still firm but look at the color. Amazing coconut fragrance. Will post pic once I cut it.
