Very cool Adam, congrats.  I recently tried canistel for the first time and enjoyed it a lot.  Supposedly Ross is better so it is next on my list to try.  Your tree looks great, about how tall is it?

cheers,
-Ethan

Ethan, I usually hate canistel but ross was edible. Not great.. but if you like canistel, I would assume the ross sapote would be amazing. I don't know, I am guessing. Noel mentioned the fitzpatrick being the best canistel he's had. I wonder if it is better than the ross.

The only canistel I have eaten is Bruce and I absolutely love it.  I got a Fairchild 2 from Jeff and can't wait for it to fruit.

Sure but I'm in orange county ca. I have a maganha mamey  it's been in the ground for 2 years. If it's a seedling it will take a decade to fruit at lease that's how long it takes out here.

I just took a pic of these ross blooms, the whole tree is doing this all over terminal branches....I like the caramel smell of the flower.... ;D :-* ;)

Hope I get fruits!  Fruit flies got into them last year, even though they infested the fruit, there was no damage and barely any worms, only one or two....and I ate their ass alive. :'( >:( ;) Trespassing, eating and pooping in my glorious sapotaceous fruit! I hereby sentence this DIPTERA TO DEATH by MASTICATION >:(

Adam,
I am starting to believe that you are the "man", as far as, growing and fruiting trees in containers!  Great Job!  Parabens!

OK, here we got real flowers, not invisible flowers like on your abiu photo!  ???
I agree with the other fellows, your plants look really nice. They must be feeling your love!  :-* Keep up the good work!!!

Thanks to all for the compliments!! Not trying to sell a product here, but the key is a micronutriional spray...and I use all sorts of beneficial fungi and organisms....I like the organic choices...like azomite and of course Turf Pro...they turn any thing green! ;)

Oscar,
I blame my eagerness and early photos taken at night...I will wait for the abiu blooms to swell, and then prove my tree is ready to show off its flowers this year for certain!   :)

I agree with Adam, most plants like, thrive, and adore foliar feeding. Also foliar ferts are much more economical! I've heard that 90% of a foliar fert is absorbed directly by the plant, whereas only 10% of soil fert is absorbed by a plant, so 90% of your money flushes down the bottom.
It's just very challenging, to say the least, foliar spraying plants here where it rains so much! So mostly i tend to apply soil ferts.
