King of fruits in China is lychee.
King of fruits in India is mango.
King of fruits in Thailand is durian.
King of fruits in USA apple... as american as apple pie.

I guess 2.7 billion people can't be wrong...the first three make it to my list of top 5. I would also add longkong and white sapote. Honorary mentions to watermelon, cherimoya, biriba, mangosteen, apricot, peach, cherry.

I have listed it before but the apricot needs more recognition. It would be the first tree I would plant if I lived in a suitable area. Chinese traditional medicine attributes mystical and curative proprieties to all parts of it. The Japanese pickle it ...umeboshi plums. The seed is used and maybe the leaves. I will check on this.

The Apricots are great fruits, but you have to try the good cultivars, size like big apple or big peach, flesh cearmy and sweety with thin skin that is melting in mounth.. My girlfriend used to have a old tree in their garden with such fruits but has gone and cant get the same cultivar, but I am trying each year in spring to find it..  at least I saved a few jars of jam that I made from them to remeber me the taste :D

My top 5 all-weather fruits are, as of today, and in no particular order:

Cherry
Apricot
Peach
Loquat
Persimmons/Lychee

All temperate, sort of! But, I am sure I will try some tropical fruit that will change this list.

I hope you find that apricot cultivar. The only apricots I have seen in markets here (USA) are no larger than 1.5 inch diameter.

It may have been a Tilton ("Giant Tilton"). They get fairly large and are very good.

I thought you liked mangos? But you gave them a zero?  ;)  Some day you'll have to have a real avocado. Those Hass are only avocado look alikes.  ;) ;)
