Is it rainy there? If so, maybe a type with closed fruit eyes. I don't know much about figs myself.

Ive tried growing many types of figs here in florida and only a few can stand the humidity and rainy weather, Black mission is a good one, another which is very good is LSU purple, Both do great in rainy humid weather.  Brown turkey is good but has a bit of problem when it rains a lot but it hangs in there and will give you a good harvest as well. you can get many variety for great deals here http://stores.ebay.com/Wellspring-Gardens/FRUIT-/_i.html?_nkw=fig&submit=Search&_fsub=7&_sid=19873724.

Dottato is regarded as a premium fig here, but i don't know how well it can perform in your climate. Too much water can really ruin the flavour of a fig.

many people call "Celeste"
the gold standard.
i agree LSU (all of them) are good, as is Black Mission
ive only had dried black mission. mine hasnt produced yet (still small)

certain  ones do not do well in high humidity
often the northern types in the south.

I am not to sure on those but if they sell them there i would try to grow them, who knows maybe they will grow well there. figs are pretty hardy, even if they don't like growing in a certain place they do their best to adapt.

Violet de Bordeaux has done well here in South Florida thus far.

Nullzero has posted lists of closed eye figs a couple times.  Try searching for figs that do well in warm, wet climates and it you should get some more info.

I highly suggest you go venture around ourfigs forum and figs4fun forum.... General concensus there dubbed Black Mediera, col de dame blanc, and Smith the greatest from numerous members.... Black mediera has sold for over 300 dollars on ebay for a small plant.... For many top varietys you can end up in serious bidding wars.... One fig tree sold for over a thousand
Thinking about joining a Fruitaholics anonymous support group...Fruit addiction has taken over my life!

Yeah, those fig auctions are crazy. Make sure they will do well in your climate though. Coastal climate is pretty bad here and doesn't have enough heat to sweeten up many figs.
