Tropical Fruit Discussion / Best tropical fruit place in the world for to travel for October?

I may take a month off and go thoroughly explore a country that ideally has awesome tropical fruit. I am not limited to October, but that would be the earliest I could do it. Where would you go and why? Durian and rarer would be a critical factor. If not October what month?

The one on the bottom/right is a geffner. The other two are unknown. The one that shows the inside was similiar to a sugar apple in its partitions and was delicious. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Fruit trees within a certain distance of bamboo

I have been told that bamboo can inhibit or otherwise hurt the growth of fruit trees within a certain proximity of the bamboo. Has anyone experienced this or have any information that might be useful? I personally have noticed that fruit trees planted within 20 feet of a small variety of bamboo seem to not want to grow well.
