Do me a favor and keep that guy on your side of Coral Springs. Knock on wood but we haven't had a problem here... yet.

IT'S A HOMOSAPIEN HARVESTOR! He picked and put in a white plastic bag about 3 or 4 mangoes and walked towards the gravel road and turned right and walked away. This male is wearing khaki shorts and short sleeve shirt , brown shoes, of medium build, about 5'10" and grey hair. Age guess between 40 and 50.
I reviewed your video zoomed and in slow motion! Too bad you didn't click before he appeared behind the tree. If you measure the distance from ground to the right branch (from your house to tree direction) you can guess exactly how tall he is with his shoes on.
If you put a sign ' mango thief caught on camera' at your mail box on your drive way you may be lucky with your 2020 yield. Triphal

Thanks for the analysis Triphal. I didn't get all the from watching.

As mentioned previously, If someone knocks on the door and ask I'm usually happy to share.
I give mangoes to the neighbors when I have time and supply.

it would have been less work if he asked during the normal times of the day instead of waking up in the middle of the night.

Either way, can't do anything now.
So hopefully his kids are enjoying it.

that guy was like a human racoon hybrid....taking such pride in his thievery, touching each mango as if it was made of gold.

next time, maybe u take some unused syringes, and stick them in the fruits, it will look pretty nasty, who would risk eating them...maybe leave a note that says, "do you really want to taste my fruit?  go ahead enjoy, and get a blood test afterwards"

What are you gonna do different next year? Hire a catcher in the mango field? Get a big dog? Apply more Tanglefoot?

I've been taking the kind neighbor approach.
But I sign might be require...with a hidden camera..hopefully they don't take that too. lol

Dam bro you wait a year to harvest your Mangoes and have this happen to you!
Sucks big time , but has to be a nearby neighbor who knows the position of your ring camera , I would install another ring Solar powered camera on a high pole facing down toward your front yard ..

Take care Bro ...

That Sucks! Do you have signs indicating you have video cameras? I have cameras surrounding my house but more importantly, I have signs posted out front so people clearly know they’re being video taped. People can get sticky fingered if they don’t know about the cameras. You can get signs off Amazon if you don’t already have some.

That would annoy me but like you would (and do) happily share if asked. Would you get a fence?

Fence and dogs mean no theft here but will encourage/ happy for people to take what will eventually hang past the fence.

Were you at home when it happened?
There are cheap "driveway alert" motion detectors available that will send a radio wave to ring the unit next to your bed. These things are small and portable. I've owned one for years and they work. When the chime rings, I grab my .22 rifle and quietly slip outside.
Fortunately, I don't yet have to deal with two-legged varmints. Mine are the four-legged variety. Many a raccoon's last thought was, "Where the hell did HE come from?!"

Post the video on nextdoor.com. It will eventually get around to the guy who did it and hopefully shame him make him think twice next time

I would print a couple of pics of the video and hang them in the mango tree with a note for the entire neighborhood to see. The dirty dog, should go to the store for mangoes.

Maybe instead putting some fence posts with ropes and bungee cords around your mango tree to keep hurricanes from toppling your tree, you could put a low decorative fence around your tree?  Like a fortified white picket fence, but with pointed spikes about crotch height, consertina wire, snares and flashing disco lights. These would go off when someone gets too close, then the speaker would say in a deep tone "Step away from the mango you are on candid camera" before a camera snaps another picture with a bright flash?

A 10 feet high concrete fence with electric wire on top might help.
