Need help - nagami kumquat cutting

Hi,

I rooted this nagami kumquat cutting last year about this time.  It seems to took it, but it refuses to grow.  I have tried put in shade area, full sun, partial sun, and fertilized.  None seems to help. 

Any idea will help.

If it is green it will grow.  Keep on waiting :-/

I took a bearss lime cutting that size and it took around a full year before it started growing, now it is doing great.

Lots of light with out the heat of the sun baking down on it



.  Kumquat trees have a severe problem starting out in sunlight and growing.  They need longer days. I give them 16 hours.

Pinkturtle, the growing medium at the bottom of the container certainly looks dry.

I water it every other day. It should ok with the water.

May I ask why you're trying to root that? You would be better off grafting it to proper rootstock. I haven't had much success with rooting rootstock cuttings, but the ones that took ended up with weaker root systems than the seedlings I've grown. Given how many years it takes to get the reward of fruit I concluded that rooting cuttings isn't really worth it. Maybe someone else has different experience, though...
