I have several grafting tools including the newest Scionon grafting shears but I still prefer grafting with a grafting knife or box cutters. The Scionon tool is useful for commercial applications or if you do a lot of home or small business grafting but I can make more precise cuts with my knife/box cutters.

Here’s a video of the Scionon tool

Best tool is still a grafting knife.  Most of those "tools" are marketing hype and fall well short of doing the job you want.  You will never see the top grafters from any country use anything other than a grafting knife...some may use razor blade.

Im just too slow with a knife, the scionon looks like it does straighter cuts and faster both, i think ill buy one, it looks like it can handle fairly good size branches also... thanks for sharing the link.

Im looking for commercial tools something with handles you sqeeze together to make a cut,or even a  bench top type but not the common  grafter tool you see on internet i already reseached that model, appears theire are 3 models of scionon, im thinking the model that starts at 3mm is perhaps best if im not doing a whole lot of very large scions.

There is a grafting tool made by fieldcraft . It can be bench mounted too. It's pricey at about $450.00  The web site is GVbud.com

Yes Will, i seen a bench model for around 450 dollars the one with the long yellow handle i just cant seen paying that high, i think the china made copy of the scionon at 50 bucks is a much better value, im just not sure if the better quality cutting blades will interchange and fit on the cheaper china made version of scionon.

Schick injector blades.

I doubt even the big nurseries use any kind of tool other than a knife on avocado.

Avoman, it’ll get faster with the knife the more often you do it.  A knife is easier to keep clean too. Professional grafters are faster than any commercial product.
Don’t rush, take time and enjoy life and food.

I have used the Schick on a #2 excel handle.  Great for cado grafting.
Also works well for me with with with mango.  I always have one in my bag, along with a trusty old grafting knife.

Tried with zero success. Just going to use a knife next time. Don't waste your money.

dont want to use a knife or blade, cheap tools are too cheap, quality one too expensive........gurantee way is buy a grafted tree at the nursery :P you don't got to do it, it's fast, works everytime, and not that expensive

Buying quality tools is always worth it.
Buying grafted tree from nursery ? Sometimes its actually a seedling.
Buy a grafting knife and graft on.

I network with a large group of Texas grafters and have done 100's myself.  The groans of folks that have bought (and returned) that sucker bet crap speaks volumes.  Avoman, watch some of the Indian grafters doing mangos in the field on YouTube.  It will shock you.  I even gave up up on my old grafting knife as it can't compete with the precision and clean cuts the Schick blade gives.

William, yes i did see that video and thanks for sharing it, i wanted to get a scionon but they arent cheap,  does anyone know if the quality scionnon blades will interchange with the zenport zj60 model ?, the zenport brand is much cheaper tool but ive heard complaints with the blades that come stock with the zenport brand.

Fruitmentor used the victorinox felco grafting knife with bark lifter.  I've bought one and will use it on my avo and citrus rootstock.

That's the one I replaced with a Schick blade.

Mark..with the Schick bald, is there a handle for it or you just use the blade by itself?

It's the medium exacto knife that holds them.  There's a photo of his exacto with schick up there it's the silver craft knife setup.
