Nectarine SunRaycer starting to bloom
« on: January 15, 2020, 11:25:32 AM »
One of my nectarine trees is starting to bloom.  I feel like its quite a bit early.  It is the SunRaycer variety.  I live in Apollo Beach just south of Tampa near the Bay.  9b   Any thoughts on the early time this tree has begun to bloom?

My Florida prince peach is blooming.  I don't know about yours but the prince is normal, the fruit will be ready end of Aprail and early May.

I am glad to hear that as nectarines are really peaches if you go back in history.  The strange thing is I have a Sun Mist and it usually blooms before the Sun Raycer.  So that gives me pause.  By the way the Sun Mist is a much more prolific producer.  It is amazing.  It is a very sweet fruit while the Sun Raycer taste like a peach without the furry outside.
