Hi Roy,
Do you think you will ever have seed of this one again? I'd like to put my hand up for the next time, if there is a next time.
Thanks,
Bruce.

This one looks interesting!
Is the tree very large?
Maybe can grow well in a large pot?

thanks for more photos Roy,

I wonder what other unusual Garcinias are lurking in your country!?

I am unfamiliar with most of the plants from India/Asia/Africa...so it's always exciting to see learn of new species from these areas.

I think there is a ton of untapped potential!

finally I see two of these seeds sprouted..although they were germinated when i received them..it took a long time for them to pop up!

thanks Roy...I'm excited about this one...seems easy to grow so far..it didn't mind the cold weather we had..and it doesn't mind city water.

Roy,

i had almost gave up on these seeds...they arrived in great condition...already germinated...so i planted them...this was about 4 months ago or more it seems?  I thought maybe they had died....but now I notice I have at least 3 seedlings.

they are tolerant of cold for sure, because they were left unprotected for several evenings, around 38F.

I'm very excited about this species.

thanks for sharing....I hope you can get more in the future.

Richard,

Looking great as usual! I hope all is going well for you, you on the look out for any other cacti fruit etc.? I wonder how graft compatible those are with other Garcinia sp.
Grow mainly fruits, vegetables, and herbs.

nice plants Richard!

yours are ahead of mine!

there's 4 in the pot, and one that's barely sprouting, hard to see in the photo, but I can see it (lower right hand side of the container)

I am interested.
How much for how many seeds with shipping to the US?

FYI, I ordered the Hodgsonia Herteroclitia from you, five of the six seeds came up, three came up this spring.

Roy,

these seedlings have been easy to grow.

slow growing and beautiful. (so far have survived 35F-105F without any damage at all)

As a grower who likes to keep trees bound in containers, I have learned to appreciate trees that grow very slow!

they are easier to keep in a pot for a long time!

I sent a PM, it's always worth it to plant more of these!

love to hear feedback on taste, and growth habits and whether this can grow in containers long term or not!

Through my efforts, this aromatic and sweet Garcinia from North East India(Tripura,an Indian State) has spread to all over the world.None outside the native range has seen or tasted the fruit as all the plants are in seedling stage. All of them who has these seedlings may have to wait for another 4-5 years to taste the fruit.
As many of the Garcinia species can be grown in large containers, this has possibility to grow in such container.
In our place, none cultivates this as this grows in deep jungles.
This fruit is called KOK in Kokborok language spoken by Tripuri people.
We should find a name of it in English
How about KOK MANGOSTEEN  or TRIPURI MANGOSTEEN
Thank you
Roy
