I was asked about leaving these photos of the Sylvia guava in the photos for future reference for those members that have purchased the cuttings and received some seeds.

So, I will allow anyone who is growing the Betty/Syliva guava shown here to use my photos I took and posted here.

I'll try to update some photos when I go back there from time to time to show how the fruits are doing on the tree.

You may see some of my ealrier photos of the guava fruits that says "Betty" and the later photos will all say "Sylvia"

Ok, I went over and cut the vine, so it looks like there will be plenty for 20 people.

I updated my first post above, also changed the length from 1 year to 6 months as registered on TFF.

Send me a message before Monday since I should be able to start shipping these cuttings on Monday/Tuesday.

I will post more photos of the fruit (got 3 more, not ripe) and pictures of the vine that I help cut way back.

Please send me your message, don't post here to request it since I only keep track of the messages you send me. Once I acknowledge you are on this Advance List of 20 people, you can pay me before Monday if you want your cutting to go out first.

P.S. - the person also has a very large Fredericks vine if you are interested in some cuttings, post it here and I will start a new post for the Fredericks cutting if at least 10 people want it.

Brief info on the new addition Mimi's loquat.  This is a fruit seed that was brought back from Spain in 2002 or 2003 by his mom when she went there for a vacation. His mom planted her seeds about 4-7 years ago in a pot. The plant grew to over 6 feet tall. It still has not fruited yet so I'm volunteering to help speed up the fruiting process time by grafting the scions to my in ground large loquat trees (3 different ones). We hope to see fruits in the next few years.

He lives in Philadelphia, so they bring in the loquat every time it gets to cold outside.

There is nothing wrong with the large green (white or pink inside) guavas. Many people only like the crunchy ones like Pearl, Crystal, Taiwan Seedless, Ruby Seedless, and others. they are not as sweet to me, so I like the softer variety more. Also, the softer guava varieties will have more tropical guava fragrance which is nice but can be strong if you keep the fruit on the counter to long.

So are you saying the big yellow fruit I show above is a lillikoi?
I don't think my photo of the yellow fruit is a Jamaican lilikoi, I have that plant growing in a pot.

For those people who do not meet my requirements mentioned above, please don't post your comments here. Make your own post and say what you want there.

That's what I thought, thank you for this feedback. Now, I don't need to go buy one to find out it was crunchy.

Yours look nice. I guess I'm cheating since the ones I have were already growing or bare root when I got them. I will post the photos momentarily, just took photos yesterday.

sounds interesting. Well I hope my Mexican Cream trees in pots get fruits again this year so I can take more photos and see if they taste better than the Sylvia guava. I know if is not as Sylvia guava and doesn't seem to produce as much fruits. Of course the Sylvia guava mother tree is huge so that's probably why it seems to have full size fruits whenever I go over there to do more graftinig.

xesoteryc, do you have any photos of the Mexican Cream fruit? I have not heard anyone else mention it is a large fruit, also have seen many of the fruits from people who know it is the Mexican Cream (like JF) and their fruits are not large, it is on the small to medium size.

If you go there again, can you remember to take a few quick photos of the fruits you like, maybe it is a seedling of the Mexican Cream.

Rob, you will like the big yellow passion fruit that I posted here. It is good, sweet with tartness, but not tart like a Fredericks of any of the normal purple fruits.
