Galka,

If you have some buddy tape, cut off the dying part of the scion and then seal off the exposed area of the scion by covering with tape

If the graft fails, which it may, we can try again!!

Ok, Adam. How far I should cut it off? I was thinking to cut off the closest bud to the rotting part. You can see it in the 2nd picture.

just go with your instincts...

I'd say there is a 50-50 chance it could still take...

if it fails, I have another one!  we shall try again!

one of my grafted rollinias that i made earlier this year is flowering nicely, about 3ft tall, in a 10 gal pot...

If it holds a fruit this year, I will be sure to post some pics.

Adam, any chance of a how to prune video? I am assuming top it off to where last branches are nice and horizontal, and cut back horizontals back to right where they start to bend down?

believe it or not, i prune most trees much like a jaboticaba.

remove spindly, or small branches.

reduce the height and overall size of the tree if needed.

leave the largest strongest branches only (Similar to jackfruit pruning....i think there is a video by Richard Campbell)

here is a grafted "Monstrinho", Biriba, about 1.5yr from grafting...and it's got some fruits setting already.

it's in a 15 gal pot, about 4ft tall...so far I've counted 2 fruits, and one is getting decent sized (about the size of a quarter, I need to take a recent pic...here are some from about 12 day ago...)

I wonder if my friend Jabotica (Robert), got his tree to fruit?

also wonder who else has this growing?  I sent out scions and trees, but lost track of who has them...

this variety is more productive than any other seedling I've seen, definitely a keeper!

My Biriba is doing good.  :) Still small and growing slow. I should probably move it to a bigger size container and see if it will grow faster.

Nice! I remember u got one!

Yes, they grow really slow for the first 6 months it seems...but then growth picks up after about 1yr from grafting !

Good luck, I know u can easily fruit this!

I grafted 6 of these in March and 5 are growing well considering the constant attacks from mites and those evil black caterpillars with orange dots.  Two of them I grafted on to really small rootstock, less than a 1/4 inch.  Atemoyas and sugarapple grafted in the same conditions are compost.  :'(
