Is this P. Alata?
-
Those flowers look great, Ill pm you.
-
Not 100% sure of the exact species... but I am led to believe it is Passiflora alata.
Thanks.

I noticed a bud forming on my mother plant today.
Kevin

Is the fruit eatable? does it needs winter protection in your zone?
-
I've fruited Ruby Glow in the past -- it's easier to fruit than P. alata, and is usually called Passiflora phoenicea because it's slightly different than P. alata. It does require a cross pollinator (I usually used P. alata, but P. edulis can work too).
-
Very delicious. I would say typical passion fruit flavor
It's the yellow larger fruit on the left in the photo... next to the purple "Frederick" fruit.
It is not hardy in my area. I am growing the mother plant in my winter heated greenhouse.
It grows fine in a 5 gallon pot and will bloom and fruit as well.
I hand pollinated it with Frederick and Incarnata pollen.
Can't say which worked best though.

I have Frederick and Ruby...and ruby has never fruited. Ruby does give off a lot of flowers though. It must be pollinating with something else you have.
-
I hand pollinated with Frederick and Incarnata to set fruit.
