Mango espolier
« on: May 26, 2018, 05:46:44 PM »

This is my recently pruned Mallika espalier. I'm looking to put multiple varieties on the tree. Any suggestion on varieties? I would like something small and bushy if possible. Thanks for the suggestions!

Beautiful espalier you have, Pickering, Cogshall, Juliette and maybe Carrie? The Florida members would have more info regarding smaller bushy types. Some of these varieties can still get big if not pruned. Ice Cream is also a nice mango but some people have complained about disease. I also like Julie but Juliette may be more productive for you.

I was just at squam's grove yesterday and one of the ones he suggested was pickering also.

Here’s a video from Chris at Truly Tropical. Several other varieties she recommends is Dwarf Hawaiian, Jahengar, Nam Doc Mai #4 and Fairchild among others.
